Blogger from my tablet

Okay, I have been having major issues with using the blogger for android app. However, I finally managed to get it working. I am testing it out and really like it. I have used it on the iPhone a few times however, I did not enjoy the experience. I am finding blogger for android to be seamless. It never freezes and it seems to be really easy to use. Now I can blog a lot easier on the mive without pulling out my laptop. Posting on the go is an enjoyable experience, and is excellent for news bloggers. I use wordpress for the majority of Intrigue Media's sites. For our online music mag, blogging on the go is perfect because we can document news and entermainment events in real time as they happen. No waiting around to find a place to plug in the laptop, we can get it done and be the first to get the story online.

This is just a test but I will be blogging a lot more using my android tablet on the move. Thanks for reading !

A while back, I did a Hubpages challenge, which was 100 Hubs in 30 days. I did not actually complete the challenge because I found that my hubs were becoming very rushed and low quality. However, I gave my Hubbing a break for a while and was concentrating on client work only. Anyway, for some reason I decided to go back to it. Boy am I glad I did go back to it, because I have found that my income has skyrocketed since I went back to writing part time on Hubpages. I don't do it full time as I have a business to run, I use Hubpages as a sideline income. Something to do on the side to earn extra money. However, something you do on the side could quickly turn into a full time income for part time hours.

                                           
                                                

Let me tell you how much money I made on Hubpages in June 2012 

When I stopped writing for Hubpages I did so because I was disheartened with the amount of work I was putting in for very little money. However, I realised I was not writing what I really enjoyed writing about. So, I switched from writing about any old random thing to writing about making money online as a writer and to writing food articles. Which I love doing, now my income has gone from a few dollars a month to over $500 a month. WOAH!  This is from articles I have written and just sat there to fester for a while, so I am thinking if I write about 100 more articles on Hubpages I could really see my income triple to $1,500 a month passive income.

What is the Key to Working on Hubpages? 
The key to earning and working on Hubpages is:

• Planning 
• Time Management 
• Good content 
• Informative content 
• Remaining active within the Hubpages community 
• Commenting and talking to other hubbers 
• Helping new hubbers to get started out 
• Reference other hubs so, they will reference yours 
• Believe in yourself 
• Work hard 
• Have a positive state of mind 

You see, this is the key to working and being successful in any business. You must work hard and network as much as you can. You must have good time management, planning and must believe that you can achieve your goals. Do not give up, because at some stage you will reach the tipping point, this means that you will reach a point where you start seeing results from the hard work that you have been putting in. When it comes to writing on Hubpages, you get what you put into it. If you are prepared to put in a lot of hard work and time then you will make good money. 

So, the answer to the question, am I still making money on Hubpages? The answer is YES! I am making money on Hubpages and I plan to make much much more in the future. There is some serious money to be made on Hubpages just make sure that you are willing to put in the hard work. Eventually you could be making a full time income with part time hours.

The Perfect Home Office

I work from home most of the time so I have been looking to set up the perfect home office. I started hunting around for everything from a new laptop, to desk chair, and desk. Even down to lamps and everything else that comes with a home office. When you work as a writer it is very important for you to have a nice, quite space that you can call your own to get your work done. I call my place of work, the place where all the magic happens. Anyway, here are some of the things I ended up getting for my new office, and I am very happy with it. If you are a writer, or you are just starting out working from home, I would strongly suggest that you set up a home office for yourself. Make it look really nice as well, you should be aiming to create a nice calming environment for yourself.

Okay the first thing I bought was a new laptop. I am normally a Windows, PC kind of girl. However, I decided to splash out a brand  new Apple Mac laptop. I ended up going for the Apple MacBook Pro MD101LL/A 13.3-Inch Laptop (NEWEST VERSION) I totally love this laptop, it is perfect for me because I love to go out and sit in a coffee shop and do my work sometimes. So, a desktop would not have been the best choice for me. Here is a list of some of the features on it:

I take a lot of photographs for my work so 8 GB RAM is great for me. The display is perfectly clear, and the battery life is 7 hours. Although, I have found that it lasts a little bit longer. If you are going to be going out with your laptop, I would suggest that you purchase another battery. All in all the Apple MacBook Pro MD101LL/A 13.3-inch Laptop is perfect for the home office.

If you are working from home it is essential that you have a good printer. Especially if you print up your own books and newsletters. I have always used inkjet printers. This was the first laser printer I have ever purchased, I bought it after looking through a number of reviews and realising that this one actually ticked all the boxes for me. I ended up going for the

A desk is highly important when you are putting together your home office. You are going to be sitting at your desk most of the time. So, it is  good idea for you to pick the best one for you, it should fit in with your decor. It should have enough space to store all your paperwork, and it should be comfortable. If you are not comfortable you are not going to want to sit there for long periods of time doing your work. I went for this really modern table the   Graphite & Frosted Glass L-Shaped Computer Desk with CPU Caddy I love this desk because it has enough space for everything. The desk chair is so important because it needs to be comfortable. If it is not comfortable it really will hinder your progress. Trust me, I have sat in an uncomfortable chair for months and it really did not get me anywhere at all. I would find myself shuffling around in the chair rather than doing my work. So, make sure you go for something that is comfortable. Hi guys
If you work from home, and you have a lot of writers or clients around the world. You need to check this out, it is basically a video chat service much like Skype of MSN but it is slightly better in my opinion. You can use it for video conferencing without having to add any extra software. You can speak to anyone in the world free of charge, up to 12 people all through your Internet connection. Totally free of charge, I have been using it for a couple of months now to speak to clients in India, America, Australia and in France. I totally love it.

The only thing is, not many people have heard of it so, you kind of have to tell your clients or your writers to download it. It is totally worth it though, you can use it on a PC or a Mac and it literally takes no time at all to sign up and set it up. I have been using Skype for a while now but I personally find this service to be a whole lot better than Skype. I was kind of stuck to my Skype for a while but now I am loving my new best friend ooVoo.

I Been So Busy

Hi Guys

I have just been trawling through a number of your comments. I am sorry if I have not had the time to post up more on here. It's All About the Hard Work!

I had a conversation with a friend of mine yesterday and she said to me, "things seem to be going really well with your business, how do you do it? What is the secret? I replied "There is no real secret, well the only thing I can say is you have to work really hard to achieve your goals" There is no substitute for it, you have to work crazy hard, and sometimes lose sleep! It really is that simple, like for example, last night I was up all night, I had a bit too much to drink too and this morning I feel kind of rough. I feel like I would rather curl up and sleep, with the duvet over my head. I don't feel like seeing any kind of light whatsoever, but you know I am here in the library working. My friend told me I am crazy, I told her that this is what separates winners from losers! Hard work, and dedication. No matter what, you are always working, while someone else is doing something else. You are working, if you keep working and you keep pushing and you keep doing something that will get you closer to your goal every day. No doubt you will get there, so the bottom line is this, you have to keep working.

If you want to be a successful writer, and make money from writing online or offline, you have to keep up the hard work. Sometimes you do have to drink a gallon of coffee whilst doing it, I actually hate coffee but sometimes I kind of have to drink it. Sometimes I have to hold my nose and drink drink drink, even if I don't feel like it. Why? Because, hard work pays off once again. Gosh I am crazy tired! I am going to keep pushing though, I know so many successful writers and they tell me the same thing that they have never worked so hard in their lives. There is no substitute for hard work, you just have to get on with it, attack it! Things you may be afraid of doing, just get on with it. Even, if it is outside your comfort zone. Just make it work! Right, I have so much work to do some I am going to get on with it.

Writing Through Depression

Hello

I have been away for while, well technically I have still been here but I have been so busy with a lot of things. For example, my book is now out and so I have a lot to do at the moment. I am also working on several other blogs and websites as part of my company, Intrigue Media Group. So, as you can imagine I have a lot of things on at the moment. Anyway, the purpose of this post is to talk about writing through depression.  I wanted to talk about it because I have been experiencing depression in some form for the past few years. It kind of went away, well it never really goes away but it calmed down for a while.It came back a few months ago, it was triggered by a family problem. Anyway I am not going to get into the family problem, but I have a had a lot going on, the darkness came back.

Anyway, one thing I have learnt over the years is, one of the best ways of alleviating the symptoms of depression is to talk about or, to write about it. Write about how I feel, it is almost cathartic, if you know what I mean.  I have found that it gives me peace, also creating a routine for myself, gives me focus.  Reminds me every day to stay on track and just get on with it. Being depressed is far from easy, but once you establish a routine for yourself and create ways of improving your mood on a daily basis, you will find that things do get better. Right now, even though things are kind of hard with all the issues that are going on, I have found that writing has helped me to get through the dark days. I watched this film called Gifted Hands a while ago, and the mother in the film was severely depressed. She called it a darkness that she could not control, I can understand this, because sometimes I feel the same way. Sometimes I wake up and I can feel that I am in a dark mood. I so tired, and so low that I just can't get out of bed. I have to drag myself out of bed sometimes, force myself to get up. It can be hard but you know, once I get out of bed, do my workout, get my son ready and get myself ready. I feel better, I usually do some writing when my son goes to bed for the afternoon, once I pick up a pen or turn on my laptop I feel an instant relief. I feel better, happier, stronger.

I have spoken to a couple of people who have suffered the same thing, I told them to write. Even if you don't make your living from writing you can still write. Write, write, write and write, trust me you will feel better for it. Write until you feel like you can't write anymore, write until you feel like you have emptied your mind of all the thoughts that you had stored in there. Just write and write, I have been writing since I could pick up a pen, and to be honest I think it has been my remedy for most of my life. I have only been making a living from writing for the past four years but it has always been my calling. It has always been something that I was born to do.

Hey I am back!

Hey guys! Miss Intrigue is back again and in full effect! LOL. I didn't run away, I have just been so busy with my book and the other sites which are part of Intrigue Media Group that I have had no time to post constantly on here. The main reason I am posting up here today is I have started a new journey in my life and I am not looking back. I know it has nothing to do with writing really, but I thought I would share this with my readers because in a way it is very important to my writing career. If I don't do this, I will never reach my full potential in life and I have to reach my full potential.

So, I am now on a raw food diet, it sounds strange to you right? Well, I decided to go on this journey because for a long time I have had a problem with my weight and my body image. I used to hide it from people but I have decided to come out of the wordwork and admit that I have a problem. So, I have decided to go cold turkey and go totally raw vegan. Meaning I will not be eating any animal products at all, and all the food I will be eating will be raw.  I will also be drinking plenty of water and making sure that I do not eat anything preserved or artificial. That is it! I have started a blog as well and it will outline everything about my day to day diet. I can't wait to share it with everyone so please do follow that blog as well! Thanks guys.

Making a million by the end of 2011

Right, hello people! How things going? How is the writing? I am loving my life right now, everything is going so well with my writing. One of my major challenges for this year, is to make a million by the end of the year. I am working so hard, some nights I don't even sleep. I am writing, writing and writing every single day, I know a change is going to come.  I have made a good amount of money from my writing career, however there is so much more money to be made. 2011 is my year, and everything I have planned for this year I am going to achieve it. I have had a lot of negative feedback from people on some revenue share sites, about making money with writing. Some people have been saying that it is impossible for me to make a million in a year with writing. Some people are saying it is not possible for me to get where I want to get to. I am never  going to let anyone who does not believe in the power of self belief to get me down. I am going to continue to work hard and strive to achieve my goals. I know it is not easy, I know it is going to be a long hard road, but at the end of the day if you believe in it and you are willing to work really hard for it you will get it.

I am going to continue to believe in my own power and I know I am going to be a major success when it comes to my writing. So, here goes, my next challenge for the year is going to be 50 blog posts this month.

So how hard do you have to work to make a million? I know that I am going to have to work harder than I have ever worked in my life. I know I probably won't get any sleep but you know what I really don't care. Because at the end of the day, once I achieve what I need to achieve I will look back and be glad that I worked really hard to achieve my goals.

So, readers keep the faith and never give up, even when people tell you that you cannot achieve your goal keep on fighting and keep on pushing. Nothing is going to stand in my way, no matter what I am going to get there.

Believe in the Power of Hard Work and Start Seeing Money from Your Writing

I speak to so many people on a daily basis who are finding it very difficult to make a living from their writing. It is very possible to start realising your dreams and actually making a living from writing both online and offline. One of the biggest problems many people have is, having the staying power to continue to work hard on a daily basis. No one said it was going to be easy, I have had a long hard road, and  I am still working hard to make things work for myself. However, if you don't work hard, you don't see results. So, the key to making a living with your writing is PERSISTANCE.

You have to continue to write on a daily basis, and perfect your writing skills every day. You have to continue to work hard, and believe that you can achieve whatever you put your mind to. 100 Triond Articles Challenge update

Hey guys!

I am now a week into my Triond 100 articles challenge. It is going reallhy really well, I have written out all my titles and I have also written 13 articles so far. I should have written more but because I have written out all the titles I know I am going to get it done. I am working really hard this month, so if you are also doing the challenge, then please do comment and let me know how you are going. The last article I did was about Whitening teeth naturally, which to be honest with you I really enjoyed writing. I am going to videos about some of my articles as well so, if people want to see the video instead of reading the article they can do that instead. I am finding the best articles seem to be about health, I find a get a lot of views with these articles.

Triond: 100 Articles in 30 Days Challenge

Last month I did the 100 articles in 30 days challenge on Hub Pages. I did not quite complete the 100 articles, no excuses, I had a book to finish and I did not plan my time as well as I should have done. I am finishing off the last few hubs on it though. Then I am going to do the 100 articles in 30 days challenge on Triond. I have found I have made a lot more on this site. Therefore I am going to focus on this site for this month. I am actually  looking forward to it. I have two accounts on Triond one which is focused on news stories and the other one is just general articles.

Once again if anyone wants to join me in making money online writing and you want to do the 100 articles challenge then please do comment on this article and we can get started together. I know this is a short post but I am rushing around today. I have a lot to get done, besides finishing writing my book, I have so much work to do I have a deadline for the publisher to get the illustrations finished for the children's book. I have a whole lot of things to do, so I am going to get them done.

Hub Pages Challenge Progress

Hey readers. Do you remember I told you I was doing the 100 hubs in 30 days challenge? Well I have ten days left of it and I have only done 30 Hubs. I obviously need to step my game up but I am sure I will get there in the end. I have been having a few issues in terms of keeping to schedule but I am about to switch my whole game up and start working Will Smith style. I mean ridiculous work ethic.  I am going for it hardcore over the next few days. I have done a mixture of book reviews, how to and just general articles. I hope to get eight hubs done tomorrow. Eight the next day and eight the day after that. If I carry on working like that I will get it done by the 26 of the month. I know this is a really short post, but I am so rushed off my feet at the moment, the music mag is about to launch and so I am kind of crazy focused on that, I also have a lot of content to finish off for the inspirational site which is if you remember Big Somnium.. Five Great Tips to Help you Write Faster and More Efficiently

It can be difficult to learn how to write faster but still maintain the quality of your work. Do you ever wonder why some people seem to crank out hundreds of articles on a monthly basis, whereas others just seem to write a few a week? Those people that have mastered the art of writing fast, good quality articles have a strategy. Organization is one of the most important factors of efficient writing. If you cant organize yourself you will find it hard to write more than a couple of articles a day. Take a look at these five helpful tips and you will be writing faster in no time.

Plan 

This may seem very obvious to you but, planning is key. Some people might find it easier to just write whatever they want on a daily basis with no plan in place. However it is much easier, and far more efficient to plan your articles in advance. This is especially true for revenue share articles, blog posts and for article marketing purposes. Decide on your titles, your  keywords and your deadlines for each piece. Put all this information into an excel document.  When you start your day of writing, you will find it so much easier, because you will have everything planned out. You will get twice as much done, so give it a try.

Organize your workspace 

A disorganized workspace can completely destroy your work patten. Picture this, papers all over the desk, on the floor. Clothes everywhere and you simply can't find anything. This is a surefire way for you to stop your work to tidy up when you should be working.  Clean up the clutter in advance, never work in an untidy room.

Shut down the Facebook 

Block Facebook, Twitter, and all other social networking pages until you have finished your work session. I know I have found it very difficult in the past to concentrate on work, because I constantly stop and read my e mails and look at Facebook. Switch your phone off, block the social networking and last but not least, do not look at your e mail.

Stop Editing 

This sounds silly right? Well, when I say stop editing I mean stop editing every line you write. Write out the article and then go back and edit. Once you have the bare ones of your piece, going back and editing should take no time at all. Stopping at every line only slows you down.

Set a timer 

This has been one of the most effective ways of writing for me. It forces my brain to tick, I always write faster, come up with the best ideas when I set a timer. So, if you have a radio alarm clock, a stop watch or even a cell phone. You can set your timer and get to work.  I set my stopwatch for 20 minutes for 500 word piece, and I normally get it done in under that time. You don't need an hour to write a 500 words piece so if you think 20 minutes is not long enough, try and set it for half an hour max per 500 words.
